Review by hotel critic
Tucked away in the heart of Marrakech, Riad Roxanne presents an intriguing blend of tradition and comfort, albeit with a few quirks. Our spacious room boasted a comfy bed, an inviting terrace, and a big bath—a respite after wandering the winding streets. While the design was charming, with vibrant traditional decor, the reality of the accommodation was less polished than the promotional images suggested. The outdoor pool was a highlight, offering a serene oasis among lush greenery, truly an inviting spot to unwind. The staff were amiable and attentive, particularly Ali, who ensured our needs were met, even during an unexpected encounter with a local demanding money. The welcome drink and homemade cookies were a sweet touch. The location felt a tad off the beaten path, allowing for a more authentic, if not slightly uncomfortable, experience. A few surprises like falling tiles cast a shadow on our overall impression, and while the breakfast was satisfying—it's essential to consider the trade-off. With some careful evaluation, Riad Roxanne could be a decent choice for those balancing luxury and authenticity on a budget.
